PC Jeweller Ltd. has repaid and cleared all outstanding debt covered by its settlement agreement with one more consortium Bank, taking the number of lenders fully repaid to 12 out of 14.

The jewellery retailer said repayments to all 12 banks were completed ahead of their scheduled due dates. With the latest settlement payment, the company has discharged more than 98 per cent of its outstanding bank debt covered under the agreements.

The repayment was made under the terms of a settlement agreement dated September 30, 2024. The company did not disclose the amount repaid to the latest bank or the aggregate debt outstanding before the settlement process began.

PC Jeweller said it remains on course to repay the remaining less than 2 per cent of bank debt and achieve debt-free status during the current month. If completed, the process would mark the end of a prolonged deleveraging effort involving its consortium lenders.

The latest update is significant because bank debt repayment can reduce interest obligations, improve financial flexibility and remove an important balance sheet overhang. The company said becoming debt-free would ‘materially strengthen its balance sheet and financial position’.

The announcement also indicates that PC Jeweller has been able to meet settlement obligations earlier than scheduled, although the company has not provided details on the source of funds used for the repayments or the terms applicable to the two remaining consortium banks.

The final stage of the restructuring will now depend on completion of repayments to those lenders. Until then, the company will continue to carry a small residual portion of the bank debt covered by the settlement framework.

For investors, the key milestone will be a formal confirmation that all remaining lender obligations have been settled and that the company has achieved the debt-free position it has targeted for the current month.
