2.57 GWp Renewable Portfolio: KPI Green Energy Updates Project Execution; 1.16 GWp Capacity Already Energised

KPI Green Energy has provided an update on its 2.57 GWp Independent Power Producer portfolio, with around 1.16 GWp already energised and another 1.41 GWp under active execution, strengthening its asset-backed renewable-energy business.

On Friday, Indian equity benchmark NIFTY traded higher, gaining 84.80 points or 0.35 per cent to 24,175.65. Meanwhile, KPI Green Energy was trading at Rs 314.25, declining Rs 2.40 or 0.76 per cent. The stock underperformed the benchmark during the session after the company announced an update on the execution progress of its 2.57 GWp IPP portfolio.

KPI Green Energy's IPP Portfolio Reaches 2.57 GWp

KPI Green Energy's total Independent Power Producer (IPP) portfolio has reached 2.57 GWp, of which approximately 1.16 GWp has already been energised, while around 1.41 GWp remains under active execution.

The company stated that the portfolio is expected to support a sustainable annuity revenue stream through long-term contracted projects under Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), mostly with tenures of up to 25 years. The development is also aligned with the company's strategic transition towards an asset-backed IPP model complemented by its EPC expertise.

200 MW Khavda Solar Project Commissioned

KPI Green Energy has successfully commissioned and started injecting power from its 200 MW / 240 MWp solar IPP project at Khavda Solar Park (South Block).

The project is among the early projects to become operational within the 1.8 GW solar park developed by GSECL. It is connected under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL).

50 MW Hybrid Project Achieves Early Synchronisation

The company has also achieved grid synchronisation and power injection for its 50 MW / 92.15 MWp hybrid project ahead of its scheduled July 2026 commercial operation date.

The project comprises 16.95 MW of wind capacity and 75.2 MWp of solar capacity and is connected under a long-term PPA with GUVNL.

620 MW Renewable Portfolio Under Execution

KPI Green Energy had executed two long-term PPAs with GUVNL in October 2024 covering renewable capacity of 620 MW / 1,027 MWp.

Under the 250 MW / 350 MWp solar project, the company has commissioned 180.70 MW / 251.13 MWp capacity on a phased basis, while the remaining capacity is under active execution.

Meanwhile, the 370 MW / 677 MWp hybrid project received an additional 130 MW / 195 MWp energisation during August 2026. With this addition, total commissioned capacity under the project has reached 269.70 MW / 389.70 MWp, with the balance capacity remaining under execution.

Wind Portfolio and Battery Storage Expansion

The company also highlighted progress across its wind and energy-storage portfolio. Its 150 MW wind project has recently achieved financial closure and is expected to be commissioned within the scheduled timeline.

Additionally, the PPA signing process for a 300 MW wind IPP project is currently underway, which is expected to further expand the company's wind portfolio.

In the energy-storage segment, Sun Drops Energia Limited, a KPI Green subsidiary focused on energy-storage solutions, has executed Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreements (BESPAs) with GUVNL for two projects having a cumulative capacity of 565 MW / 1,130 MWh.

The company stated that these projects strengthen its presence in utility-scale energy storage and enhance its ability to integrate renewable generation with grid-stability and energy-management solutions.
