Amid the market movement, NHC Foods shares were trading at Rs 1.62, up 3.85 per cent. The stock has delivered a strong performance over the past four weeks, rising by around 63 per cent. The stock's latest movement comes as the company reported strong Q1 FY27 financial performance, with quarterly sales and profitability reaching their highest levels in the period shown.

Q1 FY27 Results: Highest-Ever Quarterly Performance

NHPC Foods reported consolidated sales of Rs 370 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 111 crore in Q1 FY26, registering a growth of approximately 233 per cent YoY. The company's operating profit surged to Rs 21 crore from Rs 3 crore in the corresponding quarter, marking growth of around 600 per cent YoY. The operating profit margin also improved to 6 per cent from 3.1 per cent a year earlier.

Profit before Tax stood at Rs 18 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 2 crore in Q1 FY26, representing growth of approximately 800 per cent YoY. Net profit increased to Rs 17 crore, compared with Rs 2 crore in the year-ago quarter, registering growth of approximately 750 per cent YoY. EPS increased to Rs 0.22 from Rs 0.03 in Q1 FY26.

The Q1 FY27 figures represent the highest quarterly sales, operating profit, profit before tax and net profit in the quarterly financial data shown, with sales of Rs 370 crore and net profit of Rs 17 crore marking the highest levels in the period.

FII Stake Increases to 13.67 Per Cent

The company's shareholding pattern also witnessed a notable change during the June 2026 quarter. FII holding increased to 13.67 per cent in June 2026 from nil in the previous quarters. The shareholding data specifically shows Global Focus Fund holding 13.67 per cent as of June 2026.

At the same time, public shareholding stood at 86.32 per cent, while the number of shareholders increased to 57,623 in June 2026, compared with 57,116 in March 2026.

Trading Volume Surges Above 30-Day Average

The stock also witnessed strong trading activity. The latest trading data shows a volume of approximately 18.06 million shares, compared with a 30-day average volume of 5.34 million shares. This means the latest volume was around 3.38 times the 30-day average, or approximately 238 per cent higher than the average trading volume.

The combination of strong price performance and elevated trading activity comes alongside the company's sharp improvement in quarterly financial performance.

Low PE and ROCE

The stock is currently trading at a PE ratio of 4.64, compared with the industry PE of 19.2, indicating that its reported valuation multiple is significantly below the industry level. The company has also reported a ROCE of 11.5 per cent, reflecting its return on capital employed.
