ACME Solar awarded LOA for 220 MW Solar + BESS project by RUMSL in Madhya Pradesh

The company has a market cap of over Rs 14,000 crore and the stock is up by 37 per cent from its 52-week low of Rs 171.90 per share.

Solar-holdings-ltd-287433">ACME Solar Holdings Limited has been awarded a Letter of Award (LOA) by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) to develop a 220 MW Solar plus Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. Located at the Morena Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh, this project was secured through a tariff-based competitive bidding process. The agreement establishes a fixed tariff of Rs 2.764 per unit, with a scheduled commercial operation date set for December 31, 2027.

The project features a specialised supply structure designed to optimise grid stability. It requires a maximum annual Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF) of 35 per cent and must provide four hours of peak supply daily—two hours in the morning and two in the evening—at 95 per cent annual availability. While evening peak energy is drawn from the solar plant, the procurer will provide free energy during night hours to charge the batteries for the morning peak.

Under the 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to be signed with RUMSL and Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited, ACME Solar will benefit from pre-established infrastructure. RUMSL is responsible for providing the land and evacuation facilities above the 33 kV level. Furthermore, the project adheres to ALMM List-I and incorporates the benefits of reduced GST rates, streamlining the development of this significant domestic clean energy asset.
