25-year renewable energy round-the-clock power supply agreement awarded by MSEDCL
Adani Power Limited has received a Letter of Award from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited for the supply of 2500 MW of renewable energy round-the-clock power. The Letter of Award was received by the company at 8:30 PM on April 1, 2026, following Adani Power being declared the successful bidder in the e-RA results.
The contract is for the long-term supply of RE RTC power for a period of 25 years from the Scheduled Commencement Date of Supply. The agreement has been awarded under the provisions of the tender floated by MSEDCL and is subject to the conditions stated in the Letter of Award.
RE RTC, or Renewable Energy Round-the-Clock, refers to a power supply arrangement where the supplier is required to deliver a consistent and uninterrupted supply of electricity using renewable energy sources. Unlike conventional renewable energy contracts, where power is generated only when the sun shines or wind blows, an RTC contract requires the supplier to back the renewable supply with storage or complementary sources to ensure continuous power delivery. This makes it a more complex and significant commitment compared to standard renewable energy tenders.
The contract has been awarded by a domestic entity to a domestic supplier and does not fall within the category of related party transactions. Neither the promoter nor the promoter group companies have any interest in MSEDCL.
About the Company
