Back-to-Back Orders: Navratna PSU RailTel Bags Rs 168.75 Crore Order; Receives Fifth Order in Just 5 Days

Navratna PSU RailTel Corporation of India Ltd bags Rs 168.75 crore order and secures multiple contracts in a single week.
RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. has been awarded a significant contract by the State Project Director (SPD), Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC). The order involves the engagement of RailTel as the Implementation Partner for Education Quality Enhancement in selected government schools across Bihar under the PM SHRI initiative.
The contract is valued at Rs 168.75 crore (Rs 1,68,74,99,997/- including taxes), with a scheduled completion timeline of September 30, 2026. RailTel received the work order on March 18, 2026 at 18:00, marking the formal commencement of the project.
The order book of the company as of December 31, 2025, stands at Rs 8,497 crore.
In addition to this, RailTel has secured other contracts in the past week:
1. RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from North Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd. NBPDCL and SBPDCL will have a Cyber Security Operations Centre established as per the latest directive. RailTel will also maintain the centre for five years to safeguard IT/OT systems. The order is valued at around Rs 48.38 crore (inclusive of taxes). The date of completion for the job is scheduled for January 17, 2027. The order was received on March 18, 2026, at 15:50.
2. RailTel received a work order for a new core link under the NKN Project from National Informatics Centre Services Incorporated. The project, worth Rs 42.63 crore, is for a period of 12 months with execution by March 31, 2027. The order was received on March 16, 2026, at 15:00.
3. Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board awarded a contract to provide security-related ancillary services during recruitment examinations. The order is valued at Rs 29.90 crore and is to be completed by March 13, 2028. It was received on March 13, 2026, at 15:39.
4. RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from Dy.Cste/Projects/Bza. The contract is for signalling and telecom arrangements linked to the yard remodelling of Guntur Junction and the Automatic Block Signalling System between GNT-NLPD Section in the Guntur Division of South Central Railway. The order, valued at Rs 34.29 crore (including taxes), is scheduled for completion by September 04, 2027. RailTel received the work order on March 13, 2026, at 16:00.

As markets opened on Thursday, Railtel Corporation of India Ltd. was trading at Rs 274.45, down Rs 8 or about ‑2.83 per cent from its previous close of Rs 282.45. The stock opened slightly below the prior close at Rs 274.85 and so far has traded in a range between Rs 273.65 (low) and Rs 277.40 (high) in the session.
Despite the company securing several major orders this week, its share price has seen a decline in the market. Over the past week, the share has fallen by 4.41 per cent. Year-to-date, the stock is down sharply by 26.01 per cent, and on a one-year basis, RailTel shares are down 7.37 per cent.
