Coforge Share Price Jumps Nearly 10% As Company Declares Interim Dividend & China Expansion Plan; Check Details

Coforge announced an interim dividend of Rs 4 per share, approved the setting up of a new entity in China to expand operations, and reappointed O.P. Bhatt as Independent Director and Chairman

On Tuesday, Indian equity benchmark indices traded marginally lower, with the benchmark Nifty 50 index declining 22.00 points, or 0.09 per cent, to 23,973.95. Despite the weak market sentiment, Coforge share price jumped 9.47 per cent to Rs 1,673.20 after the company announced its Q1 FY27 results, declared an interim dividend, approved expansion into China, and announced the reappointment of its Chairman.

Coforge Q1 FY27 Financial Performance

On a consolidated basis, revenue from operations increased 49.22 per cent YoY and 24.21 per cent QoQ to Rs 5,527.7 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 3,704.4 crore in Q1 FY26 and Rs 4,450.4 crore in Q4 FY26. 

Profit after tax from continuing operations increased 85.78 per cent YoY to Rs 531.7 crore from Rs 286.2 crore in Q1 FY26, while it declined 20.19 per cent sequentially from Rs 666.2 crore in Q4 FY26. EPS from continuing operations stood at Rs 12.34 from Rs 7.38.

Coforge Board Declares Interim Dividend

The Board of Directors declared an interim dividend of Rs 4 per equity share of face value Rs 2 each for FY27. The company has fixed August 3, 2026, as the record date to determine shareholders' eligibility for the interim dividend, while the payment will be made within 30 days from the date of declaration.

Approves China Expansion

As part of its global growth strategy, the Board has granted in-principle approval to establish a new entity in China for expanding the company's operations. Coforge stated that further details regarding the proposed expansion will be shared in due course.

Coforge Chairman Reappointed

The Board also approved the reappointment of Mr O.P. Bhatt as an Independent Director and Chairman for a second consecutive term of five years, effective from May 1, 2027 to April 30, 2032, subject to shareholders' approval. Mr Bhatt is the former Chairman of the State Bank of India and has served on the boards of several leading Indian and multinational companies.
