The stock came into focus after the company reported its highest-ever annual turnover of Rs 6,400 crore for FY 2025–26 on a provisional and unaudited basis, up from Rs 5,076 crore in FY 2024–25, reflecting robust execution in naval shipbuilding programmes.

During the year, the company commissioned five vessels, including INS Himgiri, the first Project 17A Advanced Frigate, and INS Ikshak, the third Survey Vessel (Large). It also commissioned the first three Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Crafts, INS Arnala, INS Androth and INS Anjadip.

GRSE delivered eight vessels to the Indian Navy in FY26, comprising two Project 17A frigates, two Survey Vessel Large ships and four ASW-SWC vessels. In a notable operational milestone, three warships, Dunagiri, Sanshodhak and Agray, were delivered on the same day. The shipyard is also in advanced stages of concluding a contract for five Next Generation Corvettes.

Diversification into research ships, export vessels and Defence systems strengthens the portfolio

Beyond core warship Construction, GRSE expanded into specialised platforms such as Acoustic, Coastal and Ocean Research Ships, hybrid ferries and commercial vessels. It made progress on 12 export vessels for a German client and continued building a dredger for a friendly foreign country.

In its engineering segment, the company launched an indigenous Modular Foot Suspension Bridge capable of spanning up to 400 feet without piers and delivered seven 30mm Naval Surface Gun systems to the Indian Navy, alongside multiple refit projects. Capability enhancements included a Next Generation Virtual Reality Lab and strategic MoUs with domestic and international partners.

Incorporated in 1934 and listed on the BSE and NSE, GRSE operates under the Ministry of Defence and was the first Indian shipyard to build warships for the Navy and Coast Guard.
