JSW Group Power Company Commissions 1,081 MW Green Capacity Since April; Renewable Portfolio Rises to 61%

JSW Energy has commissioned 1,081 MW of renewable energy capacity since April 2026, taking its total installed capacity to 14,535 MW, with renewable sources now contributing 61 per cent of its overall portfolio.
On Thursday, Indian equity benchmarks traded higher, with the benchmark Nifty 50 index rising 0.74 per cent to 24,058.95. Amid the broader market strength, JSW Energy share price traded at Rs 541.65, up 0.88 per cent from the previous close after the company announced the commissioning of 1,081 MW of renewable energy capacity since April 2026.
JSW Energy Adds Over 1 GW Renewable Capacity
JSW Energy commissioned 1,081 MW of renewable energy capacity during the first three months of FY2027, comprising 442 MW of solar, 108 MW of wind, 381 MW of hybrid projects, and 150 MW of hydro power. Following the latest additions, the company's total installed capacity has increased to 14,535 MW, with renewable energy now accounting for 61 per cent of its overall generation portfolio.
The company's operational renewable portfolio now comprises 3,764 MW of wind, 2,500 MW of solar, 832 MW of hybrid, and 1,781 MW of hydro capacity, while its thermal portfolio stands at 5,658 MW.

JSW Energy Remains on Track for FY27 Target
JSW Energy's locked-in generation capacity has increased to 32.1 GW, including 14.53 GW of operational assets, 13 GW under construction, and a development pipeline of 4.6 GW. The company stated that it remains on track to achieve its FY2027 renewable capacity addition target of 3 GW, having already commissioned nearly one-third of the annual target. The capacity commissioned so far also represents around 87 per cent of the total greenfield renewable capacity added during the entire FY2026.
Energy Storage and Manufacturing Expansion
In addition to expanding its generation portfolio, JSW Energy commissioned its wind blade manufacturing facility at Halol, Gujarat, in June 2026. The facility has the capacity to manufacture 450 blades annually, supporting nearly 600 MW of wind power installations each year and strengthening the company's in-house manufacturing capabilities.
The company has also secured 29.6 GWh of locked-in energy storage capacity, including 26.4 GWh through pumped hydro storage projects and 3.2 GWh through battery energy storage systems (BESS). These projects support the company's long-term target of building 40 GWh of energy storage capacity alongside 30 GW of power generation capacity by 2030.
