I read your recent story on Large-Cap stocks in the last issue. Considering the current market downturn, I am considering shifting my entire portfolio to large-caps. Would this be a good strategy? Kindly advise. - Shravani Tamboli [EasyDNNnews:PaidContentStart]
Editor Responds: Thank you for writing to us. Your inclination towards large-cap stocks amid the current market correction is understandable, as they typically offer greater stability and downside protection. Companies within the Nifty 50 tend to have strong balance sheets and resilient business models, making them relatively safer during volatile phases.
However, shifting your entire portfolio to large-caps may not be the most prudent approach. Market corrections often create attractive opportunities in mid and Small-Cap stocks, which can deliver superior returns during recoveries. Completely exiting them could mean missing out on future growth. A balanced strategy, gradually increasing large-cap exposure while maintaining diversification, would be more effective in managing risk and optimizing long-term returns.
