Muhurat Trading Insights and Shares Bought of October 20 Can be Sold on Muhurat Trading?

In the Cash Market, the pre-open session will be held from 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM, followed by the continuous trading session from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM, and the post-close session from 2:55 PM to 3:05 PM. In the F&O Market, the continuous trading session will take place from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM.

Tuesday, 21st October 2025 marks the auspicious occasion of Diwali. As per the Exchange Circular, a Muhurat Trading session will be conducted on this day, and all market segments will observe a settlement holiday.

The Muhurat Trading session timings for 21st October 2025 are as follows. In the Cash Market, the pre-open session will be held from 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM, followed by the continuous trading session from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM, and the post-close session from 2:55 PM to 3:05 PM. In the F&O Market, the continuous trading session will take place from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM.

Stocks purchased on 20th October 2025 will not be available for delivery-based selling on 21st October 2025 due to the settlement holiday. However, stocks bought on 20th October can be sold on 21st October using the MARGIN product, provided sufficient margin is available. In case of short delivery from the Exchange, such trades may attract auction penalties. Investors are advised to exercise caution while executing sell orders for unsettled stocks.

In the Cash Segment (ODIN), the value of stocks purchased on 20th October 2025 will be reduced while setting trading limits based on provisional billing on 21st October. For delivery sold and EPN done on 20th October, where payout is due on 23rd October 2025, limits will not be available due to pending settlement and unsettled funds from the Exchange. Similarly, in the F&O Segment (ODIN), option premiums received or MTM profits booked on 20th October will not be available for limit utilization on 21st October 2025.

Investors with margin shortfalls, as indicated in the Shortage and Collection Requirement or Provisional Margin Shortfall communications, are advised to clear dues promptly to avoid or minimize any penalties.
