Mutual Funds Pick Their Bets: Stocks Bought in March 2025
DSIJ Intelligence-4 / 17 Apr 2025/ Categories: Mutual Fund

Despite a choppy market and declining inflows, mutual funds continued to bet on select large-cap, mid-cap, and small-cap stocks — here’s a look at what they bought.
March 2025 brought a mix of caution and quiet confidence to Indian equity markets. The Nifty saw sharp ups and downs, keeping investors on edge. After months of consistent selling, foreign investors turned net buyers in March, bringing in Rs 2,014 crore — a small but positive sign following outflows of nearly Rs 1.7 lakh crore in the first quarter of 2025. Still, the broader index stayed in the red on a year-to-date basis, with a negative return of 0.91 per cent. Global uncertainties like trade tensions, high interest rates in key economies, and concerns over slowing growth weighed heavily on sentiment.
Despite the volatile environment, mutual funds kept their focus and continued investing in select opportunities. Net inflows into equity mutual funds stood at Rs 25,082 crore in March, though this marked a 14 per cent drop compared to the previous month. The decline signals investor caution, as many preferred to wait and watch. However, fund managers remained active, steadily adding stocks they believe hold long-term potential.
Below is a list of stocks that mutual funds bought in March 2025 across large-cap, mid-cap, and small-cap segments. These additions offer insight into where fund managers see value and growth potential amid a shifting market landscape.
