Nifty Sheds Gains from Day’s High; Bank Nifty Hits Fresh All-Time High, IT Index Surges 3%

As of 11:43 AM, the benchmark index Nifty 50 was trading around its opening levels at 26,061, up by 191 points or 0.74 per cent.

After a gap-up opening, the index nearly touched an Intraday high of 26,100. However, some profit-booking at higher levels led to a partial trimming of gains, with the index now hovering near its opening mark.

The Bank Nifty index hit a fresh all-time high of 58,555.15 and was trading with gains of 0.86 per cent.

All sectoral indices were in the green, led by Nifty IT, which was up nearly 3 per cent. Except for OFSS, all constituents of the Nifty IT index were trading higher.

Infosys and Tata-consultancy-services-ltd-132540">TCS were among the top contributors to the Nifty 50’s rise, together adding nearly 73 points to the index.

In the broader market, buying interest was visible, with the Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 indices trading higher by 0.48 per cent and 0.18 per cent, respectively.
