Nxtra by Airtel, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel Limited, announced today a significant expansion of its green energy resources through a new power-wheeling agreement with AMPIN Energy Transition. This partnership will provide an additional 205,167 MWh of electricity from Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) solar-wind hybrid projects, further bolstering Nxtra's commitment to sustainable data center solutions.

The agreement involves 125.65 MW of solar-wind hybrid energy and brings the total renewable energy partnership between Nxtra and AMPIN Energy Transition to over 200 MW. This initiative is projected to reduce Nxtra's emissions by approximately 149,156 tCO2e annually, contributing to low-carbon computing and enhancing infrastructural efficiency. The additional capacity will be delivered in two phases, with captive solar-wind power projects located in Rajasthan and Karnataka. Previously, AMPIN has supplied solar power to Nxtra through intra-state, open access in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Odisha. This new agreement expands AMPIN's reach to 11 new states and introduces large-scale ISTS renewable energy supply from a single Independent Power Producer (IPP).
