Rs 11,747 Crore Order Book: This Navratna Railway Company Secures Rs 166.80 Crore Work Order From EPFO; Share Price Rises 3.64%

RailTel Corporation of India received an order worth Rs 166.80 crore, including taxes, for a one-year extension of Infra-as-a-Service through RailTel, with execution scheduled until February 9, 2027.

On Wednesday, Indian equity benchmark indices traded lower, with the Nifty 50 index declining 76.60 points, or 0.32 per cent, to 24,078.30. Amid the market movement, RailTel Corporation of India shares were trading at Rs 287.25, up Rs 10.10 or 3.64 per cent. The stock's movement came after the company disclosed that it had received a major work order from the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).

Rs 166.80 Crore Work Order From EPFO

RailTel has received a work order from EPFO for an extension of the work order for one year for Infra-as-a-Service (IaaS) through RailTel, involving additional components. The contract is a domestic order and is scheduled to be executed by February 9, 2027.

The total size of the order stands at Rs 166.80 crore, including Taxes. RailTel received the work order on August 17, 2026, at 7:58 PM, according to the company's exchange filing.

No Related-Party Interest

The company disclosed that the promoter, promoter group and group companies have no interest in EPFO, the entity awarding the contract. The work order also does not fall under related-party transactions.
