Rs 9,287 crore order book: Reliance Group-Backed Company Wins Second South African Project This Fiscal Valued at Rs 1,313 Crore

The stock is up over 10 per cent from its 52-week low of Rs 216.05 per share.

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWREL), a prominent domestic renewable EPC firm, has secured its second international project in South Africa this fiscal year. The company announced that it has received a Letter of Award (LOA) for a 240 MW AC turnkey Solar PV project in the region. The total value of this contract is approximately USD 147 million, which is equivalent to around Rs 1,313 crore. This new order significantly strengthens SWREL's foothold in the rapidly expanding South African market, bringing its total portfolio in the country to four projects with four different reputable developers. The company noted that its total Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) order inflows for the current fiscal year have now surpassed Rs 5,088 crore.

This new contract follows two ongoing projects that SWREL bagged in the previous fiscal year, which have established the company's operational presence in South Africa. The two recent project wins, secured in the last two months, are a major boost to SWREL's regional strategy, where the Solar PV market is experiencing robust growth. This demand is primarily driven by the corporate sector's need for energy security, favourable declining costs, and the national requirement for grid stability. By continuing to implement large-scale turnkey projects, SWREL is successfully capitalising on these market dynamics, reinforcing its position as a key player in the global renewable energy EPC sector.
