Syrma Johari MedTech opens a 1.2 lakh sq ft medical plastics and precision moulding facility in Jodhpur to support global device programmes.
Syrma Johari MedTech Limited, a Syrma SGS Technology company, has inaugurated a medical plastics and precision moulding facility in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, as the group increases its presence in the higher-value medical-device manufacturing segment.
The facility, inaugurated on September 22, covers more than 1.2 lakh sq ft and will undertake injection moulding, extrusion, blow moulding and tooling. It is designed to manufacture tight-tolerance and multi-cavity moulded components, medical and diagnostic tubing, customised tubing profiles and other specialised medical applications.
The expansion is strategically relevant because it broadens Syrma Johari MedTech’s capabilities beyond electronics manufacturing into precision plastics and integrated medical-device production. The company positions itself as a contract development and manufacturing organisation, or CDMO, serving programmes across diagnostics, medical aesthetics, patient monitoring, surgical and interventional care, critical care, rehabilitation and physical therapy.
The Jodhpur unit is intended to support customers through multiple stages of product development, from design and engineering to tooling, cleanroom operations, manufacturing and assembly. It also adds to the Syrma SGS Group’s wider manufacturing network of 17 global production sites and four design and innovation centres.

Download Service BrochureSandeep Tandon, Executive Chairman of Syrma SGS Technology, said the investment reflected the group’s long-term commitment to specialised manufacturing in India. 'This facility strengthens the capabilities of the Syrma SGS Group and reinforces our commitment to supporting global MedTech customers while contributing to the development of a stronger and more competitive manufacturing ecosystem in India,' he said.
The facility follows management’s earlier indication that it was adding medical-grade plastics, plastic injection moulding and SMT capacity at Jodhpur to support future MedTech growth. In its latest quarterly commentary, the company had said it expected the MedTech business to grow about 50 per cent during FY27 from a lower base, while healthcare order-book visibility, including RFID solutions, stood at about Rs 500 crore.
Syrma Johari MedTech recorded income of Rs 208.08 crore and profit after Tax of Rs 26.12 crore in FY26, according to the parent company’s annual report. The new facility could support the subsidiary’s effort to scale its contribution, although the announcement did not disclose the project cost, production commencement timeline, capacity figures or expected revenue contribution.
For Syrma SGS, the investment is also consistent with its strategy of increasing design-led and original design manufacturing content. Management has said export and ODM programmes carry relatively superior margins, while healthcare and MedTech are among the key areas where it is building such capabilities.
At the consolidated level, Syrma SGS reported FY26 revenue from operations of Rs 4,819.06 crore, up 27.3 per cent year-on-year, while profit after tax rose 87.5 per cent to Rs 345.81 crore. In the latest reported quarter, net sales increased 68.3 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1,588.62 crore, though operating margin excluding other income moderated sequentially to 10.17 per cent from 11.89 per cent.
As of 2:17 pm on September 22, 2026, Syrma SGS Technology shares were trading at Rs 1,765.30, up 3.06 per cent from the previous close. The stock has gained 102.12 per cent over the past year, compared with a 3.73 per cent decline in the BSE 500 over the same period.
The Jodhpur investment gives Syrma Johari MedTech additional manufacturing depth, but its financial outcome will depend on customer programme wins, qualification cycles and the pace at which new medical-device production lines ramp up. The company has not provided financial guidance specifically linked to the facility.
