Strides Pharma Science received the USFDA Establishment Inspection Report for its flagship Bengaluru facility, closing the inspection with a Voluntary Action Indicated outcome; the stock touched Rs 1,056 during Thursday's session

On Thursday, the Nifty 50 rose 137.50 points, or 0.57 per cent, to 24,215.80, while Strides Pharma Science shares were trading at Rs 973.90, up Rs 16.40 or 1.71 per cent. The stock opened at Rs 986.50 and touched an Intraday high of Rs 1,056.00, while the day's low stood at Rs 970.00. From the previous close of Rs 957.00, the stock's intraday high of Rs 1,056 represented a jump of approximately 10.34 per cent.

USFDA Issues EIR for Bengaluru Facility

Strides Pharma Science announced that its flagship manufacturing facility in Bengaluru has received the Establishment Inspection Report (EIR) from the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA), indicating the successful closure of the inspection conducted at the facility.

The USFDA conducted a current Good Manufacturing Practices inspection at the facility between May 12 and May 20, 2026. The inspection concluded with a Form 483 containing five observations, following which Strides submitted a comprehensive response addressing the observations within the stipulated timeline.

Based on the company's response and the corrective and preventive actions implemented, the USFDA classified the inspection outcome as Voluntary Action Indicated (VAI) and issued the EIR, thereby concluding the inspection.

Flagship Facility Supports Global Markets

The Bengaluru facility is Strides Pharma's flagship manufacturing site and serves regulated as well as other international markets. The facility manufactures a broad portfolio of pharmaceutical dosage forms, including tablets, capsules and oral liquids, supporting both existing commercial products and future growth opportunities.

The company stated that the successful closure of the inspection further strengthens its regulatory track record and reinforces its focus on supplying pharmaceutical products to patients across global markets.

Volume Surges Above 31 Lakh Shares

Trading activity in Strides Pharma shares was also notable during the session. The stock recorded a volume of approximately 3.18 million shares, or 31.80 lakh shares, compared with the 30-day average volume of around 352.46 thousand shares, or 3.52 lakh shares.

This means the day's volume was approximately 9.02 times the 30-day average, indicating significantly higher trading activity following the USFDA-related development.
