Top performing Flexi-cap fund in 2022

The year 2022 was quite volatile with frontline earning mere 4.44 per cent returns. Although this seems to be near about interest rate on a savings account, it has outperformed global equity markets. Moreover, there were sectors that depicted strength in 2022 with energy, PSU, banks, oil and gas returning over 20 per cent.

Even mutual funds were not back in the race. Sectoral funds dedicated to sectors like banking and financial services, automobile, energy and infrastructure sector were the top performers in 2022, while technology funds, international funds and pharma funds were the bottom performers.

Having said that, as a category the average returns of flexi-cap funds were flat at 0.5 per cent. However, despite such a weak performance by the category, there were funds that generated double-digit returns.
