Markets Trading In The Volatile Zone

After touching new life time high levels on yesterday’s trading session, Indian markets today are witnessing a bout of volatility as investors look to book profit. DLF, Tata Steel, BHEL and Hindalco are the top losers in the morning trade. At the current hour the Nifty index is trading down by 37 points at 7616 and Sensex is negative by 102 points at 25478.
Benchmark indices swung between positive and negative terrain near the flat line after regaining strength. This showing signs of volatility. The Nifty is currently trading with a negative bias of 37 points at 7616 and Sensex is down 102 points at 25478.
The advance-decline ratio is on the positive side in the morning session. On the NSE, 2209 shares are trading in gains and 1278 shares are down.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Tech Mahindra is the top gainer for today’s morning session, up by 2.73%, followed by Wipro, Cipla, Sun Pharma and Lupin.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: DLF is down by 4.08% as of now. Sesa Sterlite, Tata Steel, BHEL and Hindalco are also trading lower.
On sectoral front, 11 out of the 13 sectors are trading in the red zone. Healthcare was the highest gainer, up by 214 points, followed by IT, up by 127 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps are both are in red and trading down by 108 points and 60 points respectively. Among those in the red, Metals indices and Capital Goods were down by 270 points and 208 points respectively.
The Asian shares are reflecting a mixed to positive sentiment. The Hang Seng market is the top gainer this morning, up by 168 points. Nikkei is trading down by 127 points. Taiwan Weighted and KOSPI are trading up.
Buzzer: Tech Mahindra, stock opened at Rs 1965 and jumped nearly 2.60% after hitting a 52 week record high of Rs 2010.
The Nifty is trading at the 7627 level, 7600 will be a major support for further trading sessions.
