Indices Up By 1%, Auto & IT Outperform

Markets witnessed a good recovery session after it saw heavy fall in last closing session. Most of the sectoral indices closed on the positive note. Auto, IT, Capital Goods and Consumer Durables showed positive trade of more than 200 points. As a result the 50 share Nifty index was up by 85 points at 7687 and the Sensex ended the day higher at 25731, up by 250 points.

The advance-decline ratio on NSE was on the positive side as the day ended with 2090 shares in green and 1496 shares in the red zone.

Top Nifty Gainers: Hindalco gained 4.34% in today’s trade, followed by BPCL, Infosys, NMDC and Sesa Sterlite.

Top Nifty Losers: Sun Pharma closed the day lower by 1.01%, followed by HDFC, Bharti Airtel, Cipla and HDFC Bank.

All the sectoral indices closed on a positive note. Capital Goods and Consumer Durables witnessed good recovery by 250 points each. Auto, IT and Metals also witnessed positive trade by 200 points each. While Bankex, Oil & Gas, mid-caps and small-caps also closed on the positive note.

All the major Asian markets closed the day on a mixed note. Hang Seng closed up by 67 points, whereas Nikkei index closed down by 48 points. KOSPI and Taiwan also closed in the positive territory.

Buzzer: BPCL was up by more than 4% on the bourses today and closed near the technical level of Rs 604. If the stock opens above this level, it may touch the Rs 610/640 mark in the next few sessions.

Nifty Future gave bullish crossover as it closed above 7700 level. If it continues with the current scenario, it may see 7800 level in tomorrow’s trading session.
