Spike in Delta Corp after turnaround quarter result

Delta Corp (DCL) posted its June quarter result on July 16, 2015. The company's net sales boosted by 46.2 per cent to reach Rs 81.45 crore in Q1FY16 as compared to same period in previous financial year.
Delta Corp (DCL) posted its June quarter result on July 16, 2015. The company's net sales boosted by 46.2 per cent to reach Rs 81.45 crore in Q1FY16 as compared to same period in previous financial year. Its total expenditure increased by 10.18 per cent to Rs 58.22 crore in Q1FY16 on yearly basis.
DCL's EBITDA boosted by 709.41 per cent from Rs 2.87 crore in Q1FY15 to Rs 23.23 crore in Q1FY16. The EBITDA margin of the company has considerably increased to 28.52 per cent due to its operational efficiency in Q1FY16 on yearly basis. Its EBIT stood at Rs 13.86 crore in Q1FY16 against loss of Rs 5.56 crore in Q1FY15 though its depreciation expense increased by 11.15 per cent to Rs 9.37 crore during the quarter. PBT of DCL stood at Rs 2.77 crore in Q1FY16 while it suffered a loss of Rs 19.68 crore in Q1FY15. Its net profit stood at Rs 10 lakh in Q1FY16 whereas it had net loss of Rs 19.57 crore in Q1FY15.
Considering the segment revenue, DCL earned largely revenue of 86.04 per cent from the Casino gaming segment,a 12.91 per cent from the Hospitality segment and remaining 1.04 per cent from others during Q1FY16. The casino segment’s net sales grew by 37.13 per cent to Rs 70.53 crore in Q1FY16 on yearly basis.
The shareholding pattern of DCL states that FII holding expanded by 34 basis points to 14.51 per cent and DII holding contracted by 5 basis points 0.32 per cent in June 2015 quarter. The share price of the company on BSE increased by 9.35 per cent and is trading at Rs 83.05 intraday.
DCL has segments like gaming and hospitality. The Company offers 2,000 gaming positions. The Company owns three offshore casinos in Goa. Its casinos include Deltin Royale and Deltin JAQK. Deltin Royale is a live offshore gaming vessel. The ship has 1500 gaming positions across 116 tables and 250 slot machines. The ship is a four-level casino which also has an in-house dining and entertainment restaurant, Vegas and a lounge, Whiskys. DCL owns two hotels in Goa as Deltin Palms and Deltin Suites.It also has hotel The Deltin in Daman.
