Indices Falls On Closing Buzz

The Indian markets witnessed an unexpected fall in the last half hour of today's trading session. The most affected were the stocks of Capital Goods and Consumer Durables, as they witnessed basket selling and crashed by more than 100 points each. Having profit booking by 134 points, the Sensex ended the day at 28101.The Nifty ended the day lower by 39 points at 8525. Both the indices closed lower by around 0.47 % each.

Having profit booking by 134 points, the Sensex ended the day at 28101.The Nifty ended the day lower by 39 points at 8525. Both the indices closed lower by around 0.47 % each.

The market breadth ended on a negative note at the end of the day. On the NSE, 1424 shares closed in the green, while 1531 shares ended the day in red.

Top Nifty Gainers: BHEL was the highest gainer today and appreciated by 2.3%. It was followed by Hero Motocorp, Maruti Suzuki, TCS and Bajaj Auto.

Top Nifty Losers: ONGC closed the day lower by 2.7% followed by M&M, Tata Motors, NTPC and Idea.

All of the 13 sectors ended the day with losses. Capital Goods and Consumer Durables were the top losers as it closed lower more than 100 points. Auto, Metals and Oil & Gas also ended the day significantly lower around 90 points each. Bankex, Mid-caps and Small-caps also were closed in negative territory.  

On the contrary, Asian markets closed on a positive note today. The Shanghai Composite was the top gainer as it closed higher by 184 points. The Nikkei ended higher by 84 points. The Straits Times and Taiwan also ended on a positive note. However the Hang Seng market ended on negative note, down by 31 points. 

Buzzer: BHEL gained 2.3% today, the stock closed above the technical level of Rs 270, which is indicates of a more positive move ahead.

The Nifty closed around its crucial support level of 8500 today. The opening below this level may bring more turmoil.
