Nifty unable to sustain above 7500 mark; INFY down by 3%

The Indian markets did not witness any signs of recovery till closing session. The sensex fell 170 points and ended at 26623. The Nifty made deep dives and ended  down by 45 points at 7486 level. Both the indices closed down more than 0.5 percent each.

The advance-decline ratio was on the negative side in the closing session. On the NSE, 1192 shares closed in green, while 1406 shares ended the day in red.

Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Hindalco closed the day as the top gainer on the NSE, up by 3.3%. It is followed by Cairn India, HDFC, Asian Paints and Maruti Suzuki, which were the others that closed the day on a positive note.

Top 5 Nifty Losers: Infosys was the top loser, down by 3.05%, followed by BHEL, Reliance, Bank Of Baroda and GAIL.

Most of the broader indices witnessed a free fall trade. Capital Goods was the top loser for the day, and cracked by 211 points. It was followed by the Bankex and IT indices which fell by over 128 points and 146 points respectively. Also Oil & Gas, Auto, FMCG and Healthcare saw negative moves. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps ended on a negative note down by 33 points and 19 points.  

On the Asian front, The Hang Seng ended the day lower by 11 points. The Shanghai Composite closed down by 58 points. While the Nikkei and Taiwan ended on a positive note, up by 210 points and 26 points respectively.

Buzzers:  Infy. The stock is down by 3 percent and closed below 1150 mark. Below this level it may see more downfall upto 1070/1020 level.

The Nifty Future closed below 7500 level which is negative indicator for further trading session.
