Mid-Market: April 4

The Indian markets are in positive terrain today. Today’s positive rally was primarily led  by the Automobiles, Consumer Durables and IT which was up by 134, 86 and 138 points. All other sectors are trading in the negative. Nifty was trading up by more than 7.40 points, an increase of 0.10 per cent at 7720.45; and  Sensex is down by 9.12 points, a decrease of 0.04 per cent at 25260.

The advance-decline ratio showed the same trend as most of the stocks were trading in green. 1358 scrips were trading in the positive territory; 944 scrips were in red; however, 130 stocks remained unchanged on the NSE.

Top Nifty Gainers: Tata Power is leading the gainers' list as it was trading up by close to 4.52 per cent followed by Idea Cellular, Hindalco, M&M and Bharti Airtel which were up 4.06; 3.75; 2.64; and 2.50 per cent respectively.

Top Nifty Losers: ITC is leading the losers' list down more than 2.32 per cent, followed by Bharti Infratel and ONGC which are down by 2.18 per cent and 1.77 per cent respectively.

All the major sectors were trading in green except for BSE FMCG, Capital Goods, Oil and Gas, PSU and BANKEX. BSE Capital IT was leading the way with gain of 126 points, followed by BSE Auto and BSE Consumer Durables, which are trading up by 126 and 61 points. BSE Small Cap is trading up by 12 points and BSE Mid Cap index trading down by 9.53 points.

Buzzer : - Mphasis is buzzing in trade as it was trading down by 2.76 per cent quoting Rs 454 because it has been acquired by Blackstone.
