Market stock specific; profit booking trend

The Indian markets witnessed a profit booking trade in Thursday's session. The most affected were the stocks of Bankex and Auto, as they witnessed heavy selling and crashed by 280 points and 177 points respectively. Having fallen by 200 points, the Sensex closed the day at 26525.The Nifty ended the day lower by 65 points at 8140.

Having fallen by 200 points, the Sensex closed the day at 26525.The Nifty ended the day lower by 65 points at 8140.
The market breadth ended on a negative note at the end of the day. On the NSE, 911 shares closed in the green, while 1626 shares ended the day in red.
Top Nifty Gainers: Hindalco was the highest gainer today and appreciated by 2.8%. It was followed by GAIL, Eicher Motors, Asian Paints and Adani Ports.
Top Nifty Losers: Bharti Infratel closed the day lower by 4.6%. It was followed by ICICI Bank, Maruti Suzuki, Ultra Tech Cement and IndusInd Bank.
12 of the 13 sectors ended the day with losses. Bankex was the top loser as it closed lower by a hefty 283 points. Auto and Capital Goods also ended the day significantly lower, down by 177 points and 151 points respectively. Mid-caps and Small-caps also were surrounded by a negative scenario. However Metals closed in positive territory, ending up by 33 points.
Asian markets closed on a negative note today. The Nikkei was the top loser as it lost by 485 points. The Hang Seng ended lower by 429 points. The Shanghai Composite and Taiwan also ended on a negative note.
Buzzer: Bharti Infratel. The stocks tanked by 4.6 per cent to close below the technical level of Rs 350. If it continues with current momentum, it may come around Rs 340-330.
The Nifty closed around its vital support level of 8150. An opening below 8100 level may be indicative of a more painful scenario ahead.
