Choppy day ends on higher note, Oil & Gas surges

The benchmark indices witnessed choppy action till closing buzz. As indices like Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Auto pulled the indices higher ,while Bankex and FMCG ended lower. The Nifty ended higher by 19 points at 8528 and Sensex was 40 points up at 27787. The indices ended in the green by 0.15-0.23 per cent each.
The benchmark indices witnessed choppy action till closing buzz. As indices like Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Auto pulled the indices higher ,while Bankex and FMCG ended lower. The Nifty ended higher by 19 points at 8528 and Sensex was 40 points up at 27787. The indices ended in the green by 0.15-0.23 per cent each.
The advance decline ratio ended on the positive side at the closing buzz. 33 stocks closed with green mark whereas, 18 stocks closed in red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: BPCL was top gainer gain with 3.2% followed by Idea, ICICI Bank, Power Grid and Lupin.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: Hindustan Unilever was top loser with loss of 2.9% followed by IndusInd Bank, Yes bank, Eicher Motors and Axis Bank.
On the sectoral front, 10 out of the 13 sectors ended in the green. Oil & Gas sector was top gainer and up by 190 points. Whereas Healthcare and Auto sectors also were up around 75 points each. IT, Metal and Mid-caps were surrounded by profit booking, up by 20 points to 30 points respectively. However Bankex and Consumer Durables closed in red territory.
The Asian markets were quoting positive; Nikkei closed up by 225 points. While Hong Kong’s Hang-Seng was down by 129 points. Shanghai Composite and KOSPI also closed in negative territory.
In Europe, FTSE opened down by 10 points, DAX opened 102 points lower, and CAC opened 32 points lower.
Derivative Analysis
The Nifty July future has been trading in the range of 8480-8550. Going ahead, technical level of 8600 will be the major hurdle.Top 5 Gainers On NSE
