Bulls Charge; Sensex regains 28K

The Indian markets saw an unexpected rally today, with Auto, Banks and Capital Goods leading the day. The Nifty ended higher by 132 points at 8683 and Sensex was up by 363 points at 28079. Both the indices ended higher by around 1.5 per cent.

The market breadth remained positive till closing hour, with 1963 advances and 1361 declines on the NSE.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Grasim was top gainer with 5.4% gains followed by Hero MotoCorp, Hindalco, Ambuja Cement and Bajaj Auto.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: Tech Mahindra was the top loser with loss of 0.9% followed by Power Grid, Bharti Infratel, Sun Pharma and Bharti Airtel.
In today’s trading session most of the sectors closed on the green mark and Auto was top gainer by 659 points. Bankex and Metals closed on positive note around 435 points and 243 points respectively, followed by Capital Goods, Mid-caps and Small-caps, which also closed in green territory. However IT closed on the lower end down by 16 points.
The Asian markets were quoting in positive. Japan’s Nikkei was positive, and closed up by 171 points. Hong Kong’s Hang-Seng was up by 93 points, and China’s Shanghai Composite closed on the green mark.
European markets were also trading in positive scenario.
Derivative Analysis
Nifty future has given a bullish crossover as has closed above 8700 mark. By considering current scenario, index may see more tops.
