Markets witness a deep cut

The Indian markets have witnessed a deep cut, majorly after RBI Governor, Raghuram Rajan kept repo rate unchanged. Auto and Healthcare indices spanned more than 100 points each followed by Mid-caps and Small-caps. The Nifty ended lower by 33 points at 8678; and Sensex was 97 points down at 28085.
The Indian markets have witnessed a deep cut, majorly after RBI Governor, Raghuram Rajan kept repo rate unchanged. Auto and Healthcare indices spanned more than 100 points each followed by Mid-caps and Small-caps. The Nifty ended lower by 33 points at 8678; and Sensex was 97 points down at 28085.
The market breadth remained negative till closing hour, with 17 advances and 33 declines on the NSE.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Tata Power was the top gainer with 3.5% gains, followed by ZEEL, Infratel, Coal India and ONGC.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: Idea was the top loser with loss of 5.9%, followed by Lupin, Ambuja Cement, Grasim and Eicher Motors.
In today’s trading session most of the sectors closed on the red mark; and Auto and Healthcare were the top losers with a dip of more than 100 points. While Oil & Gas, Metals, Mid-Caps and Small-Caps closed on a negative note. However, only Consumer Durables closed in green territory, up by 54 points.
The Asian markets were quoting in the mix. Japan’s Nikkei was positive, closing up by 114 points. Hong Kong’s Hang-Seng was down by 29 points, while China’s Shanghai Composite closed on the green mark.
European markets were also trading in a positive scenario.
Derivative Analysis
Nifty future consolidated in the range of 8660-8720. Going ahead 8630/8600 will be the vital supports.
