Markets Remain Choppy; End Lower

The Indian markets have been witnessing choppy trades after a long weekend. The indices like IT and Auto haves witnessed major profit booking, thereby dragging the benchmarks lower. The Nifty ended down by 29 points at 8642; and Sensex was down 88 points at 28064. The indices ended the day lower by 0.31-0.34 per cent each.
The Indian markets have been witnessing choppy trades after a long weekend. The indices like IT and Auto haves witnessed major profit booking, thereby dragging the benchmarks lower. The Nifty ended down by 29 points at 8642; and Sensex was down 88 points at 28064. The indices ended the day lower by 0.31-0.34 per cent each.
The advance-decline ratio ended on the negative side. On the NSE, 22 shares closed in green, while 29 shares were in the red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Cipla was top gainer with 7.3% gains, followed by Adaniports, Hindalco, BPCL and Ambuja Cements.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: Infratel was the top loser with loss of 4.2%, followed by Bosch Ltd., Sunpharma, Tech Mahindra and HCL Tech.
In today’s trading session, majority of the sectors closed in green; and Metal was top gainer with 140 points. Capital Goods and Banks closed on a positive note, up by 121 points and 58 points respectively, followed by Mid-caps, Oil & Gas and Healthcare, which also closed in green territory. However IT and Auto closed on a negative note.
The Asian markets were quoting in negative. Japan’s Nikkei was negative, closing down by 273 points. Hong Kong’s Hang-Seng was down by 21 points, while China’s Shanghai Composite closed on red mark.
European markets were also trading in negative scenario.

Nifty future closed above 8600 level; 8550/8480 levels will remain as vital supports.
