Markets remain choppy: end lower

The Indian markets have been witnessing choppy trades for two consecutive days. Indices like Auto, Bankex and IT witnessed some profit booking to drag the benchmark lower. The Nifty ended down by 37 points at 8629; and Sensex was down 91 points at 27985. The indices ended the day lower by -0.33 and -0.44 per cent respectively.
The Indian markets have been witnessing choppy trades for two consecutive days. Indices like Auto, Bankex and IT witnessed some profit booking to drag the benchmark lower. The Nifty ended down by 37 points at 8629; and Sensex was down 91 points at 27985. The indices ended the day lower by -0.33 and -0.44 per cent respectively.
The advance-decline ratio ended on the negative side. On the NSE, 15 shares closed in green; while 36 shares were in the red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Hindunilvr was top gainer with 2.1% gains, followed by Zeel, ITC, BHEL and Idea.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: Grasim was top loser with loss of 3.8% followed by Auropharma, Ambuja Cement, Lupin and ACC.
In today’s trading session majority of the sectors closed on the red mark. Bankex, Auto and IT were top losers, closing more than 100 points lower. While Mid-Caps and Small-Caps also closed on a negative note. However only Consumer Durables and FMCG closed in positive territory.
The Asian markets were quoting in the mix. Japan’s Nikkei was positive, closing up by 52 points. Hong Kong’s Hang-Seng was up by 60 points. However Taiwan and Shanghai composite closed on the red mark.
European markets were also trading in negative scenario.
Derivative Analysis
Nifty future closed at 8630. Going ahead the levels of 8560 and 8520 will be the vital supports.
