Indices end on highs: Healthcare surges

The Indian markets continued with their positive momentum and showed good volume at the closing bell. The indices like Healthcare and Auto surged by 359 points and 209 points respectively.
The Indian markets continued with their positive momentum and showed good volume at the closing bell. The indices like Healthcare and Auto surged by 359 points and 209 points respectively. The Nifty closed up by 35 points at 8952 level; and the Sensex was up by 118 points at 29045 level. Both the indices closed on positive note, up around 0.4 per cent each.
The advance-decline ratio was on the positive side in the closing session. On the NSE, 37 shares closed in green, while 14 shares ended the day in red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Sun Pharma was top gainer with 3.8% gains, followed by Auro Pharma, Bajaj Auto, Tata Steel and Grasim.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: Yes Bank was top loser with loss of 5.3%, followed by TCS, Tech Mahindra, BHEL and HCL Tech.
In today’s trading session the majority of the sectors closed in green. Healthcare and Auto were top gainers, and closed up by 359 points and 209 points respectively. While Consumer Durables and Capital Goods also closed on positive note, up more than 100 points each. Mid-caps, Small-Caps and Metals index also closed on a positive note. However IT and Banks closed on a negative note.
The Asian markets were quoting in the mix. Japan’s Nikkei was negative, and closed down by 53 points. Hong Kong’s Hang-Seng was up by 177 points, while Taiwan and KOSPI closed on the negative mark.
European markets were also trading in mixed scenario.
Derivative Analysis
Nifty closed at 8900 level, if it opens above 8950 mark it may see more up move for the day.
