Heritage Foods commissions new power project in AP

Heritage Foods commissioned its second 2.1 MW wind power project. It is commissioned at Vajrakarur in Andhra Pradesh. This plant is expected to generate five million units per annum to be utilised at dairy plants of the company under captive open access arrangement through ATRANSCOM/ APSPDCL.

The successful commissioning has largely been possible due to Suzlon Energy.

Its S90-97 90 meters' hub height enables it to generate more electrical units than other wind power projects. This plant will reduce 4885 tons CO2.

Meanwhile, Future Group is in talks to acquire the retail business of Heritage Foods. The company has 110 retail stores with revenue of Rs 582.9 crore in FY16.The share price of Heritage Foods declined by 5.8 per cent on bourses and is trading at Rs 890 on an intra-day basis.

Heritage Foods is a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company. The company's business interests are dairy, retail, agriculture, bakery and renewable energy. It has operations in approximately  10 Indian states.
