Volatile indices end on a positive note

The Indian markets saw a good amount of buying in the closing session. The benchmark indices are awaiting for U.S. election result. Tomorrow’s opening might be a trend decider for short term. The Nifty was up by 46 points to close the day at 8543 and Sensex closed at 27591 up by 132 points. Both the indices ended in green by 0.48-0.55 per cent each.

The advance–decline ratio ended on the positive side at the end of day. On the NSE, 31 shares closed in green, while 19 shares ended the day in red.

The Auto index outperformed in all of the sectoral indices, and closed up by 365 points in today’s session. Bankex and Oil & Gas were gainers,  gaining around 183 points and 117 points respectively. While Mid-Caps and Small-Caps were up by around 50 points each. Capital Goods, Metals and IT also closed in positive territory.

In the Asian markets, the Nikkei closed down by 5 points. The Hang Seng index ended up by 108 points. While the Taiwan and Shanghai also ended on a positive note.

European markets were also trading in mixed scenario.

Derivative Analysis

Nifty future closed above its crucial supports which is 8500/8450. If it sustains above 8600 level, it may see more positive moves ahead.
