The Indian markets witnessed heavy sell-off in mid-session. After majority of the front-line stocks hammered badly, the Nifty nosedived by 200 points at 8325 and the Sensex by 600 points at 26924. Both the indicators were down more than 2 per cent each.

The advance-decline ratio is on the negative side. On the NSE, 369 shares are in the green and 2218 shares are in red.
