Indices end with nominal gains

The Indian markets witnessed choppy trade after mid-market session. Sectors like Oil & Gas, Metals and Mid-caps provided good strength. On the other hand Bankex ended on a negative note. The Nifty ended with gains of 12 points at 8126; and Sensex was up by 34 points at 26350. 

The Indian markets witnessed choppy trade after mid-market session. Sectors like Oil & Gas, Metals and Mid-caps provided good strength. On the other hand Bankex ended on a negative note. The Nifty ended with gains of 12 points at 8126; and Sensex was up by 34 points at 26350. 

The advance-decline ratio ended on the positive side in the closing session. On the NSE, 30 shares closed in green, while 21 shares ended the day in red.

Majority of the sectoral indices closed on a positive note. Oil & Gas index led today’s rally, being up by 125 points. Metals and Mid-caps were outperformers of the day, up around 100 points each. FMCG, Healthcare and Auto also were up in 60 points to 90 points range. However Bankex closed in negative territory, down by 245 points.  

In the Asian markets, the Nikkei closed down by 24 points. While the Hang Seng index ended up by 107  points. While the Taiwan and Shanghai Composite also ended on a positive note.

European markets were trading in negative scenario.

Derivative Analysis

Nifty future not only sustained but also closed above 8100 mark, indicating vital support on lower levels.
