Show stoppers this week: Metals

Metal stocks were the biggest gainers in the week gone by, as almost all the Metal stocks traded higher, courtesy strong commodity prices in the domestic and global markets. BSE Metal index gained more than 5 per cent in the last five trading sessions.

Metal prices were boosted by strong demand emanating out of the world’s biggest metal consumer China where imports saw an increase in more than two years which further helped prices firm up.

Aluminium and Zinc prices traded at new highs recovering from their 2016 lows touched in February.
