BHEL jumps on bagging new order; raises capital goods index

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has won a new order for engineering, procurement and construction order for the installation of solar photovoltaic rooftop systems from Surat municipal corporation, worth 3.6 MW.

The ten areas have been identified for the installations which are under the municipal limit, whereas 1MW energy is required for Surat smart city. On the other hand, this is the largest rooftop order won by the company. As a result of this, BHEL index has gone up and is currently trading at 2,198.27 level or at 0.76 per cent.
Meanwhile, the BSE Capital Goods index is also up by 0.92 per cent. Besides, Siemens is up by 4.00 per cent, Havells is up by 3.40 per cent, Crompton Greaves is up by 3.32 per cent. LT and Siemens put together are contributing 50 per cent to the capital goods index.
