Nestle says it is not just about Maggi: there are more to come

After the Maggie controversy took backseat, Nestle India is now focusing on de-risking its business model. With this target, the company is now looking at diversifying its portfolio entering into various new categories.

After the Maggie controversy took backseat, Nestle India is now focusing on de-risking its business model. With this target, the company is now looking at diversifying its portfolio entering into various new categories. The company is also focussing at growing penetration of its products. New categories in which the company aims to enter include building a premium coffee business under Nespresso and Dolce Gusto brands, looking at entering pet care business and also steadily growing its presence in the cereals segment. The company, which has a relatively small business in the healthcare and skincare segments, will also focus on growing these categories further. It has also re-launched its malt-based beverage, Milo, in the ready-to-drink format.

Furthermore, the company announced its quarterly result on February 15, 2017. The company posted net profit of Rs. 167.3 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2016 as compared to Rs. 183.19 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2015.

Moreover, the company’s board of director has recommended final dividend for the year 2016 of Rs. 23 per equity shares of Rs. 10/- each.
