Indian stock markets celebrated the landslide BJP victory in Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, with a gap up opening and ending at two-year high level. Nifty closed above the 9000 level for the first time ever.
Indian markets traded bullish and at the closing bell, Nifty ended at 9087, with a gain of 152 points and BSE Sensex closed at 29,442, adding a whopping 496 points. On the NSE, 44 shares closed in the green, while 7 shares ended the day in the red.
All indices closed in the green, except Metals. Bankex increased more than 450 points. Capital Goods also rose 472 points. Consumer Durables increased 333 points. Auto and Healthcare indices rose more than 225 points. However, Metals declined 32 points. Mid-cap and Small-cap indices increased 191 points and 162 points, respectively.
Asian markets traded mixed on Tuesday. Shanghai increased 0.07 per cent, Hang Seng declined 0.01 per cent, while Nikkei lost 0.12 per cent. European markets were trading mixed.
Derivative Analysis
Nifty Future closed on a bullish note at 9098. Going ahead, 9168/9016 will be the immediate support levels.
