In a bid to strengthen market presence, Ashok Leyland is likely to launch a range of fully-built vehicles to tap the sector, which is expected to grow at a CAGR of 16 per cent.
With a view to capitalising on future opportunities in the logistics industry which is estimated grow to USD 370 billion by 2020, Hinduja Group's flagship company Ashok Leyland is seeking opportunities to strengthen its presence in the industry.
The company is likely to launch a range of fully-built vehicles to tap the sector, which is expected to grow at a CAGR of 16 per cent.
The company's operations comprise 45 per cent of the total market share in the truck segment of the logistics industry.
The company's plans to introduce latest and advanced technologies in the sector is likely to create greater opportunities, besides strengthening the 'Make in India' initiative of the government.
A total of 14 per cent of the GDP is spent on logistics in India, while trucks comprise 65 per cent of freight transportation in the logistics industry.
