Markets start April F&O expiry on a flat note

Indian capital markets opened negative and ended flat on Friday. Nifty remained unchanged at 9173.75 on the first day of April month’s expiry.

At the closing bell, Nifty closed unchanged at 9173.75, and BSE Sensex closed at 29620, with loss of 26 points. On the NSE, 27 shares closed in the green, while 24 shares ended the day in the red.

All indices closed in the green, except Bankex, FMCG, IT. Capital Goods, Consumer Durables and Metals increased more than 100 points each. Oil & Gas rose 246 points. Bankex fell 180 points, FMCG and IT declined almost 30 points each. Mid-cap index increased 111 points and Small-cap also rose 102 points.

Asian markets traded mixed on Friday. Shanghai increased 0.38 per cent, Hang Seng reduced 0.78 per cent, Nikkei also dropped 0.81 per cent. European markets were trading on weak sentiments at the start of Brexit process.

Derivative Analysis

Nifty Future closed in the positive at 9198. Going ahead, 9237/9093 will be the immediate support levels.
