Markets give cheerful start to FY18

Indian capital markets hit new highs and started the new financial year with a bang. Nifty traded above the level of 9200.
Indian capital markets hit new highs and started the new financial year with a bang. Nifty traded above the level of 9200.
At the closing bell, Nifty ended at 9237, with gain of 64 points and BSE Sensex closed at 29910, with an increment of 289 points. On the NSE, 26 shares closed in the green, while 24 shares ended the day in the red and one remained unchanged.
All indices closed in the green, except IT. Capital Goods gained a whopping 570 points, while Bankex and Healthcare notched up 160 points each. Auto index rose 87 points. Consumer Durables increased 94 points. Oil & Gas also rose 100 points. However, IT index declined 89 points. Mid-cap index increased 93 points and Small-cap also rose 186 points.
Asian markets traded positive on Monday. Shanghai increased 0.38 per cent, Hang Seng gained 0.62 per cent, Nikkei also rose 0.39 per cent. European markets were trading flat.
Derivative Analysis
Nifty Future closed in the positive at 9198. Going ahead, 9287/9175 will be the immediate support levels.
