Arun Jaitley to discuss H1B visa issue with US authorities

Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley, has hinted that he would discuss the H1B visa issue as well as concerns of the IT industry with the US authorities during his five-day visit to Washington.
"These are matters of discussion with the appropriate authorities there. Once I do discuss and get an opportunity, I will let you know," said Jaitley when asked whether he would take up the H1B visa issue with the US authorities.
The Finance Minister, on his 5-day visit to the US, will attend the Spring Meetings of IMF and World Bank along with deliberations of G20 nations. He is also slated to meet the US Treasury Secretary.
Recently, Donald Trump has signed an executive order to replace the current lottery system for issuing work visas with a so-called merit-based approach, which has left the Indian IT majors in a tight spot.
