BHEL bags largest ever export order

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), on Tuesday, has bagged its largest ever export order, valued at Rs 10,000 crore, for setting up 1320 MW(2x660 MW) Maitree Super Thermal Power Project in Bangladesh.

The company has won the contract through tough international bidding as informed to the bourses. The order has been secured from Bangladesh India Friendship Power Company (Pvt) Limited (BIFPCL), a 50:50 joint venture of NTPC and Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB).
BHEL has arranged debt financing for the project from the EXIM Bank of India for which loan agreement between EXIM Bank and BIFPCL was signed in March this year, an official statement said.
The project includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, construction, erection, testing and commissioning of the 1320 MW thermal sets.
The stock on Tuesday has opened at Rs 176.80, and touched a high of Rs182.65, following a low of Rs 176.10; and at 10:55 am the stock is quoting at Rs 180.05 per share.
