Markets consolidate above 9300

Indian capital markets remained in consolidation mode on the second consecutive day. Markets stayed cautious ahead of FOMC outcome, which is scheduled at night on May 3.

Indian capital markets remained in consolidation mode on the second consecutive day. Markets stayed cautious ahead of FOMC outcome, which is scheduled at night on May 3. Nifty sustained above the level of 9300.

At the closing bell, Nifty ended at 9311 with loss of 2 points and BSE Sensex closed at 29894, reduction of 26 points. On the NSE, 25 shares closed in the green, while 26 shares ended the day in the red.

All indices closed in the red, except IT, which increased 135 points. Healthcare declined 145 points. Bankex, Capital Goods and Consumer Durables lost 95, 86 and 78 points, respectively. Mid-cap index decreased 45 points and Small-cap rose 10 points.

Asian markets traded mixed on Wednesday. Shanghai decreased 0.27 per cent, Hang Seng and Nikkei remained closed on May 3. European markets were trading on negative sentiments.

Derivative Analysis

Nifty Future closed in the negative at 9336. Going ahead, 9395/9274 will be the immediate support levels.
