Tata Steel, Tata Motors and ICICI Bank pulls Sensex closer to 30700 levels

Sensex closed at yet another record highs on Wednesday, after the benchmark index closed at 30,658.7 levels, up by 76.17 points or 0.25 per cent. Out of the 30 index stocks almost 16 stocks advanced versus 14 stocks declined.

Tata Steel (7.95 per cent) was top Sensex gainer followed by Tata Motors (2.82 per cent) and ICICI Bank (2.35 per cent).

Adani Ports was the top index loser as the stock slipped 1.64 per cent. Wipro and HDFC were the top index losers closing down by 1.32 per cent and 1.06 per cent respectively.

Nifty closed at 9525.75 levels up by 13.5 points or 0.14 per cent. There were 23 nifty stocks that advanced versus 27 stocks that declined with one stock remaining unchanged.

BSE Metal was the top sectoral index gainer. The index gained 2.27 per cent. The BSE Auto index gained 0.5 per cent, BSE Telecom index gained 0.5 per cent whereas BSE Oil & Gas index was down by 0.28 per cent, BSE Realty index was down by 0.28 per cent, BSE Healthcare index was down by 0.34 per cent and BSE IT index was down by 0.23 per cent.
