Mutual fund houses collectively received SIP inflows of Rs 4,269 crore in April which is lower by Rs  86 crore when compared to March SIP inflows.

April month saw mutual fund industry AUM touch all-time high at Rs 19.26 lakh crore, however, the SIP inflows in mutual funds were seen slowing down marginally in April.

Mutual fund houses collectively received SIP inflows of Rs 4,269 crore in April which is lower by Rs  86 crore when compared to March SIP inflows. The SIP inflow for the month of March was Rs 4,355 crore.

It is observed that the SIP inflows typically are less in the beginning of the year and the investments pick up as the year progresses.

The total number of SIP accounts as on April 30, 2017, is 1.34 crore as per AMFI.

Experts believe the current market optimism and under penetration of mutual funds will help the growth of the AUM for mutual fund industry and that SIP investment will also grow as the year progresses.
