Pharma and Metal stocks rally; IT stocks drag

Benchmark indices slipped on Thursday trading session with Sensex closing at 31213.36  levels down by 58 points or 0.19 per cent and Nifty closing at 9647.25 levels down by 16.65 points or 0.17 per cent.

Dr Reddy was the top Sensex gainer as the stock gained 3.79 per cent followed by Sun Pharma which gained 3.38 per cent. HDFC was up by 2.28 per cent, Cipla was up by 1.77 per cent, Tata Steel was up by 1.81 per cent, Lupin was up by 1.27 per cent and Power grid was up by nearly 1 per cent. 

TCS was the top loser shedding 3.6 per cent. Gail was down by 3.4 per cent, Asian Paints was down by 1.6 per cent, Hero Motors was down by 1.5 per cent, ICICI Bank was down by 1.42 per cent and Hindustan Uniliver closed down by 1.20 per cent. 

BSE FMCG closed up by 0.17 per cent, BSE Healthcare closed up 1.81 per cent, BSE Industrials closed up by 0.21 per cent, BSE Auto closed up by 0.06 per cent, BSE Bankex closed up by 0.16 per cent, BSE Metal closed up by 1 per cent, BSE Power closed up by 0.14 per cent and BSE Realty index closed up by 0.47 per cent. 

BSE Teck closed down by 1.29 per cent, BSE Oil & Gas closed down by 1.13 per cent, BSE Consumer  Durables closed down by 0.69 per cent, BSE Capital Goods closed down by 0.17 per cent, BSE Telecom closed down by 0.67 per cent and BSE Information Technology closed down by 1.51 per cent
