Post Market Summary
Indian markets ended slightly lower after recovering from day’s low. Positive cues from European markets during the afternoon session helped Indian markets to recover from morning losses. BSE’s benchmark Sensex closed at 19545 down by 38 points. NSE’s Nifty shut shop at 5868 down by 6 points. The markets were weak in the morning due to negative cues from the Asian front. In the morning, Sensex tumbled nearly 300 points to touch intraday low of 19306 and the Nifty touched low of 5791. The BSE’s Midcap and Small cap index was down 0.03 percent each due to profit-booking by institutional and retail investors ahead of coming Thursday expiry. Among the sectoral indices, Consumer Durables down by 0.8 percent followed by Oil & Gas and Realty loosing 0.35 and 0.31 percent respectively. The market breadth was negative with 1570 declines against 1286 advances on the BSE.
